About the event

Full Immersion Camping Trip at Oyanagawa Keiryu Riverside  Park

In order to book for Rafting and Canoe activies I will need you to book your spot by the end of June.

Monday the 8th 6:00-7:00 am pickups -Friday the 12th 6-7:00pm  drop offs

Scout age range 8 to 13 yrs of age

There are 4 to 9 spots open for booking on each 5 day trip.

The 5th booking will be put on a waiting list until we reach a total of 7 bookings. From there I will sign on another vehicle and Scout Leader.

Onsen is optional and requires parental permission.

For food safety, each Scout will have a camping dinner set which they will be responsible for. (With oversight if needed)

Monday: Pick up Scouts between 6-7 am and head to camp site, set up camp, introduce camp rules and responsibilities, River play, BBQ, and stargazing and games.

Tuesday: Morning camp duties and river play before River Rafting Tour on Fujikawa in the afternoon, Onsen or camp showers before dinner, and fireside stargazing and board games.

Wednesday: Exploring the Ice cave, and Bat cave around Mount Fuji before heading to Motosu Lake for canoeing or kayaking if possible. Dinner at a restaurant before heading back to camp. Camp showers and Movie night!  (At the moment canoeing bookings are not possible due to Covid restrictions. If booking isn’t possible we would have an afternoon of swimming, paddle boats, and water games at the lake.)

Thursday: Hiking and waterfall sightseeing, introduction or practice of the Japanese Art of Shinrin-Yoku or Forest bathing (simply put, a form of quiet mindfulness), swimming and River play near the campsite, BBQ, Onsen or camp showers, Star gazing, and hangout time.

Friday: Morning starts by packing up camp and preparing to head home. Lunch BBQ and River play until departing at 3pm. Eta at drop off point around 7pm.

Tasks for the Scouts to assist in or learn about are:

Meal planning & prep, cooking, fire building,  outdoor forest and water safety, rafting and canoeing, and camping responsibilities as a team.

The fees for this 5day 4night camp are 130,000 yen per Scout and are all inclusive.

Tent arrangement will be female Scouts with a female Scout Leader and male Scouts with a male Scout Leader.
