About the event
Pick up will be by car outside McDonalds at Tachikawa staion south side at 8:45 and drop off at 16:00. If you are in central Tokyo I will pick you up at 7:30 at Koenji J.R. station, drop off at 17:15-30. Drop off time may be affected by Traffic so I will update the arrival time 1hr in advance.
From Tachikawa station we will head by car to Tama river.
We will learn about and build suvival shelters, taking care to gather wood safely (wildlife check)
We will use basic tools (saw, rope, and small knife) to craft our shelters.
we will practice fire building and enjoy a hotdog and marshmallow roast.
If your Scout doesn't have a tool kit they will use their event allowance to shop for it at the dollar store on the way to the river. I want the Scouts to start with a small and…
