On August 6th we were forced to change the location of our event due to rain and storms. We made up for it by heading to Iruma river for a day of swimming & rock jumping.

We also built a fire and roasted some marshmallows. when taking a break from swimming we repaired the shelter we had built previously. Everyone enjoyed the disaster scenario I came up with and got into gathering materials, expanding, and building the shelter up.

The Scouts practiced floating on their backs and tested their swimming abilities in the deeper water as well as floating down stream in the shallows. We had such wonderful day together.
Our last event in August was on the 25th. Due to Covid restrictions we had to change the venue and ended up heading to Sayama to spend the day on the obstacle courses, visiting a local history museum, and playing games in the park.
The Scouts had boundless energy as we ran the courses over, time and time again. Each time changing the challenge or timing ourselves.
After many goes on the obstacle course we took a break and headed to the museum.

We spent some time in the Museum, looking and talking about the various things that are no longer in common use and watching some documentaries about how local produce has been made for centuries. We marveled at what people had or didn't have, how long it took to travel or make clothes, and what things we might have had to entertain ourselves.
After our time at the museum the scouts wanted to have a water fight and play with some sports equipment I brought so we had our snack and spent the last hour playing a variety of games before eating some ice cream and heading home.
We had such a full day and we hope to see you again soon.
